Dorel Juvenile Group USA's Public Relations Agency Wins Two New England Publicity Club "Bell Ringer" Awards on their Behalf Also Honored with Merit for the Get on Board with Child Safety Campaign!
CANTON, MA (June 10, 2006) - Duffy & Shanley, Inc., was recently recognized at the New England Publicity Club's 37th Annual Bell Ringer Awards in Boston for its work on behalf of Dorel Juvenile Group USA, the world's largest juvenile products manufacturer, an operating subsidiary of Dorel Industries, Inc. (TSX: DII.SV, DII:MV; NASDAQ: DIIB.) Taking home two Bell (first place) awards for excellence in public relations, Duffy & Shanley beat out strong competition to win in both the Newsletter and Feature/Commentary Placement: Magazine categories.Working with Dorel Juvenile Group USA to successfully launch the Safety 1st and Foremost e-Newsletter in 2005, Duffy & Shanley provided invaluable insight and counsel, ensuring the achievement of the Program's core goals: develop an ongoing dialogue with customers and prospects in a meaningful way, raise awareness around child injury prevention, position Safety 1st as a leader in child safety advocacy and drive consumers to the Safety 1st website for child safety information and products.
The Agency was also recognized for excellence in media relations for its work in securing a Fortune Magazine feature, "The Way We Innovate Now." The article, published in the September 2005 issue, featured Dorel Juvenile Group USA as one of three innovative U.S. factories doing business today.
Duffy & Shanley also received a Merit award in the Community Service Campaign category for the Get on Board with Child Safety (GOB) campaign launch. Leveraging Dorel Juvenile Group's compassionate culture - borne of a reverence for the critical life-saving nature of its products - Duffy & Shanley worked with Dorel Juvenile Group USA to synthesize this authentic corporate attribute and the Company's flagship brand - Safety 1st - to effectively position the brand as THE voice in child safety.
In 2005, in partnership with the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions, the Get on Board with Child Safety campaign was born; its goal, to educate parents and caregivers around child injury prevention. Not only was GOB successful in executing a myriad of special events, including the NY Cab Health Fair, home safety makeovers and car seat donations but also in collaborating with Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN to open the nation's first-ever hospital based safety store. Program initiatives garnered critical national publicity - to include USA Today, Fox and American Baby features.
